NSRG Say Relax! Skate To It - Join the North Star Roller Girls on February 18, 2012 for our 80's themed Bout
Remember the Eighties - that decade of Cold War, Reagonomics, and the Rubik's Cube? OK, maybe not, but NSRG recently asked some of its skaters for their list of the coolest things that came about from the decade that birthed the word "Yuppie". Not surprisingly, the responses could be categorized into Music, Fashion, and Entertainment.
For those that were there during the Eighties, and for those that will live it vicariously through the North Star Roller Girls at the February 18th bout, we want to know your favorite 80's song and movie. Post your favorites on our Facebook page and you might get a shout out at the bout!
Bout Entertainment
We'll cover the entertainment at the February bout with the band Generations Lost. This band will rock your favorite music of the 80's during halftime. We've heard 'em and can vouch that they're Totally Tubular!

Nothing says Eighties like those video arcade machines that so many spent mindless hours playing. You too can relive hours lost in front of these vintage 80's arcade machines at our next bout. Fresh from hibernation, the North Star Roller Girls will feature many of your favorite video games for you to play. Challenge your friends on Asteroids, beat Mario on Donkey Kong Jr, and blow up Pookas on Dig Dug. We'll even announce the high score of the night from our very own Donkey Kong machine.
First Ever Mid-Season Tryout Held! Great New Skaters Added to the League Roster
Minneapolis, MN – Twenty-three women gathered on the morning of January 22nd to gear up and try out for NSRG at the league's first-ever mid-season tryouts. Team Zebra brought in five new members and three of the four home teams each added two new skaters to their ranks. Please welcome:
