I use them for my banking, and it's simply great. Great rates on savings and loans. And I don't have to be concerned about having to pay fees for every little thing.
In general, I prefer credit unions to regular banks because I feel like credit unions aren't trying to make a couple of dollars off you all the time. But among credit unions, Star One had the best rates of all the ones I checked out about 10 years ago, and they still do. I started with them when they only had one branch. Things should be a lot more convenient now that they have expanded.

Fantastic service! and very friendly. in a world of snotty bankers, this was a refreshing, and pleasant experience. They were all so very helpful and willing to get answers, even to questions that didn't really matter, just so satisfy my curiosity. I am glad I am a customer, and highly recommend this place.

I don't love Star One and I don't hate it. I signed up back in the day when I worked in the South Bay.
My car loan is with them and I have a good % rate. Thanks goodness that they finally let me deduct my monthly payment from my bank account. I hate writing checks and they were forcing me too.
