If you have longer hair, of course you could start the braid underneath her hair and bring it all the way around her head instead. After you have the braid secured, you will probably want to try and hide the rubber band and parts on the other side of her head. To accomplish this, we added some curls with our curling iron and strategically placed them in a way that covered both where the braid started and ended. In the picture below, you can see that the first 3 curls we made are curled towards her face to help cover the rubber band. And, the same curling technique was used on the other side to hide where the braid started..... We actually used this style for her picture day hairstyle at school one year. I love the simplicity and classic look of it. A side note: I can't get over how much she has grown up and how long her hair has gotten since this picture was taken. Everyone always says it, but it's true! They grow up so fast!! Hope you enjoyed our easy and quick hairstyle tutorial for short hair. Sometimes simple can be very cute! :)
This hairstyle is a variation of the Illusion Braid (which we posted a couple of weeks ago.) We absolutely loved the original braid but "the princess" is very active and we sometimes have trouble with bobby pins falling out of her hair. Some of you have commented on having this same problem. Well, our first illusion braid required bobby pins.... but this one does not. :) We have found that ribbon is a great solution for keeping this braid together as well as adding a pretty touch of color to the style! I'm thinking this would be a cute hairstyle for many different activities such as cheerleading, dance, sports, holidays, etc. You could switch up the color of the ribbon to suit the occasion. We have some heart patterned ribbon that we're thinking would be darling in this hairstyle for Valentine's Day.
A Quick and Easy Hairstyle For Toddlers, Babies, and Girls
This fun hairstyle is very easy and quick. Great for keeping hair out of the eyes. Of course, this style isn't just for babies. This would be cute for older girls as well! The Princess wears her hair like this quite a bit. With an added ponytail or bun, it's a great hairstyle for gymnastics, sports and dance (as it stays in place and holds up very well.) This hair style should work with short hair and long hair, fine or thick!
