  1. a.  Clarification on money paid for programs – a member will be paid $50 for a full program which means it is a planned program that lasts at least 30 minutes.   There will be no more trade for dues – since this really messes up the treasurer in keeping the books ---- you will be paid for the program at the time you give it.  If 2 members go together to give the program, then you will split the $50.00.   Show & tells, sharing ideas, short 10-15 minutes sharing do not count as a program.

  1. b. It was decided that TGAA needed a club photographer that would document all activities and take photos for the website and directories.    Paula Campbell has graciously agreed to be this photographer, however she would like a helper that could take pictures if she were out of pocket.  Signup will be on the Action Team Board.

  1. c.  The officers recommend making a TGAA 16 month Calendar to sell, with all proceeds (less cost of producing) going to a selected non-profit organization.    The calendar would contain pictures of the members’ glasswork.   This would be under the direction of an action team and it would be up to that group as to how to make this work.   Members then can sign out a number of the calendars, sell them and turn the money back in to be distributed to the selected organization.    The calendars could be placed at locations that showcase members (with their approval) used at personal sales, shows, etc.     The calendar would have 4 months of 2011 in it and the entire 2012 year.    This could become an annual thing.

There was some discussion about how would the pictures be selected, etc. and Phylis said this would be up to the Action Team to decide.   It was brought up that selling the Calendar would only be for a short period, possible 4-6 months prior to January.   It was suggested that we could also do notecards which could be sold year long.

Recommendation is revised to include notecards and is on the floor as a motion.   Shirley Hand seconded and it was accepted by a show of hands.

Sign up for the Action Team is on the Action Team Board.  The non-profit organization will be selected at the April meeting.

  1. d.It is also the opinion of the officers that the By-laws need to be looked at again and more changes made – thus the reason for the By-Laws Action Team.   Debbie Malone who was one of the founders has agreed to head this team.

Three resolutions to the By-laws are recommended by the Officers to take place immediately.

  1. 1. Change the membership year to the fiscal year -  January through December.   (With this in mind, the dues that will be due this year would be $25.00 to cover April through December – then it would revert back to $35.00 for the year.)

  1. 2. Remove the stipulation of having to pay back dues for years not participated in order to become active again.      “Life circumstances” are never planned and no matter what the reason, if a past member wants to become active again, they should be allowed to with no penalty.  With payment of current dues, they would be reinstated as active.

  1. 3.Change the election of officers from March to September for the year 2012 and all subsequent years.   This would allow the Nomination Committee (which will become active again and chosen by the Executive Board) to talk with prospects one on one, give them plenty of time to consider and by electing in September, allow for hands-on training for the months of October and November and a special training session in December to prepare and equip them to take office in January.    This would mean that the officers elected today would serve only through December of 2010.

Motion to accept the proposed resolutions was made by Glenna Wooten and seconded by Scott Peterson.  Motion passed by show of hands.

There was a suggestion that it would be nice if the President going off in December could stay on in an advisory role.   This will be taken into consideration by the By-Laws Action Team.

Since the meeting in February had to be cancelled due to bad weather, nominations from the floor for officers for the next year would be done tonight and voting as well.   The new officers will take over at the April meeting.    This will be the last time it is done this way,  see resolution #3 above.      Self-nominations from the floor were opened and the only person who self-nominated themselves was Trudy Jauquet for Ethics Chair (stating that she was trained in dealing with conflict and had previously work for Human Resources).    Both Jill McCoy and Cindy Whitehead had requested not to be considered for another term due to personal and family situations.    Prior to the meeting, Kathy Barnett had agreed to run for Vice-President, Karen Compton agreed to run for Secretary if no self-nominations from floor,   Phylis Vaughn and Debbie Malone agreed to run again for their office.
